DIRECTIONS 
Xavier Center is located on the 200-acre grounds of the Sisters of Charity in Convent Station, NJ, which is also the home of the campuses of the Academy of Saint Elizabeth and the College of Saint Elizabeth.
Just minutes from the center of Morristown, New Jersey, Xavier Center is convenient to Routes 24, 287, 78, 80, Garden State Parkway and NJ Turnpike, only 30 minutes from Newark International Airport, and less than a mile from the New York City train stop at the campus entrance.

Directions to Xavier Center by Car (for GPS: 23 Convent Road, Morristown, NJ)
Via I-80 East (coming from Northwest NJ and Northeast PA):
Take I-80 East to I-287 South (Morristown). Take I-287 South to Exit 37 (Route 24, Springfield). Proceed east on Route 24 to first exit (Exit 2A, Route 510 West). After exit ramp, move to far left lanes to take left turn at first traffic light (Park Avenue). Proceed on Park Avenue for .7 miles to the entrance to the College of Saint Elizabeth on the right just before the third traffic light. Once on campus, Xavier Center is the second building on your left. The parking lot is on your right just before you get to Xavier Center.
Via George Washington Bridge and I-80 West:
Cross the George Washington Bridge and follow signs to I-80 West (express lanes). Take I-80 West to I-287 South (Morristown). Take I-287 South to Exit 37 (Route 24, Springfield). Proceed east on Route 24 to first exit (Exit 2A, Route 510 West). After exit ramp, move to far left lanes to take left turn at first traffic light (Park Avenue). Proceed on Park Avenue for .7 miles to the entrance to the College of Saint Elizabeth on the right just before the third traffic light. Once on campus, Xavier Center is the second building on your left. The parking lot is on your right just before you get to Xavier Center.
Via Lincoln Tunnel:
From the Lincoln Tunnel follow the signs to Route 3 West. Take Route 3 West to Route 46 West. Continue on Route 46 West to I-80 West. Take I-80 West to I-287 South (Morristown). Take I-287 South to Exit 37 (Route 24, Springfield). Proceed east on Route 24 to first Exit (Exit 2A, Route 510 West). After exit ramp, move to far left lanes to take left turn at first traffic light (Park Avenue). Proceed on Park Avenue for .7 miles to the entrance to the College of Saint Elizabeth on the right just before the third traffic light. Once on campus, Xavier Center is the second building on your left. The parking lot is on your right just before you get to Xavier Center.
Via Holland Tunnel:
Bear right after tunnel to New Jersey Turnpike (Jersey City Extension). Take Turnpike to I-78 (Newark Airport Toll Plaza). After toll, take I-78 West. Route 78 divides several miles down the road. Keep to the right and follow the signs for Route 24/124 Springfield/Morristown. Proceed on Route 24 West. Take Exit 2A, Route 510 West (Morristown). After exit ramp, move to far left lanes to take left turn at first traffic light (Park Avenue). Proceed on Park Avenue for .7 miles to the entrance to the College of Saint Elizabeth on the right just before the third traffic light. Once on campus, Xavier Center is the second building on your left. The parking lot is on your right just before you get to Xavier Center.
Via Verrazano Bridge:
Follow I-287 through Staten Island to Goethal's Bridge. As soon as you cross Goethal's Bridge, follow signs to the NJ Turnpike North. Take the Turnpike to Exit 14 (Newark Airport). After toll, take I-78 West. Route 78 divides several miles down the road. Keep to the right and follow the signs for Route 24/124 Springfield/Morristown. Proceed on Route 24 West and take Exit 2A, Route 510 West (Morristown). After exit ramp, move to far left lanes to take left turn at first traffic light (Park Avenue). Proceed on Park Avenue for .7 miles to the entrance to the College of Saint Elizabeth on the right just before the third traffic light. Once on campus, Xavier Center is the second building on your left. The parking lot is on your right just before you get to Xavier Center.
Via I-287 South (coming from Northern NJ and upstate NY - Tappan Zee Bridge; New York State Thruway):
Take I-287 South to Exit 37 (Route 24, Springfield). Proceed east on Route 24 to first exit (Exit 2A, Route 510 West). After exit ramp, move to far left lanes to take left turn at first traffic light (Park Avenue). Proceed on Park Avenue for .7 miles to the entrance to the campus of the College of Saint Elizabeth on the right just before the third traffic light. Once on campus, Xavier Center is the second building on your left. The parking lot is on your right just before you get to Xavier Center.
Via I-78 East and I-287 North (coming from West New Jersey and Central Pennsylvania):
Take I-78 East to I-287 North to Exit 35, (Route 124, South Street-Madison Avenue). Bear left on exit ramp. At exit ramp light, turn left. Take first right to Route 124 East. Turn right at stop sign and proceed on Route 124 East (in right lane). At fifth traffic light (the Madison Hotel is on your left), turn left onto Convent Road. Entrance to the campus is just across the railroad tracks. (Distance from where you turn on Route 124 East to Convent Station is exactly 1.7 miles.) Follow signs to Xavier Center (drive through campus and go down a hill, Xavier Center is on your right, and our Parking Lot is on your left beyond the Center.
Via Garden State Parkway and I-78 West (coming from Jersey Shore; coming from the North -- see below):
Take Garden State Parkway North to Exit 142. Move to the far right toll booth and follow signs to Highway 78 West...Take Exit 142B to get on Route 78 West. **Route 78 divides a few miles down the road. Keep to the right and follow the signs for Route 24/124 Springfield/Morristown. From Route 24, take Exit 2A, Route 510 West (Morristown). After exit ramp, move to far left lanes to take left turn at first traffic light (Park Avenue). Proceed on Park Avenue for .7 miles to the entrance to the campus of the College of Saint Elizabeth on the right just before the third traffic light. Once on campus, Xavier Center is the second building on your left. The parking lot is on your right just before you get to Xavier Center.
Please note: Coming from the North, take the exit before the Union tolls (78 Springfield) and follow the directions from ** above.
Via New Jersey Turnpike (coming from Washington, Baltimore, Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey):
Take the New Jersey Turnpike North to Exit 10. Take I-287 North to Exit 35, (Route 124, South Street-Madison Avenue). Bear left on exit ramp. At light, turn left. Take first right to Route 124 East. Turn right at stop sign and proceed on Route 124 East (in right lane). At fifth traffic light (the Madison Hotel is on your left), turn left onto Convent Road. Proceed on Park Avenue for .7 miles to the entrance to the College of Saint Elizabeth on the right just before the third traffic light. Once on campus, Xavier Center is the second building on your left. The parking lot is on your right just before you get to Xavier Center.
*** IMPORTANT ***
If you arrive after 8:00 PM or when we are on a security red alert nationally, the back gate of campus is closed. Instead of making a right just before the third light, make a right at the second light (Punchbowl Road). Proceed on Punchbowl Road. Immediately after going under the railroad overpass, turn left on Old Turnpike, proceed to Convent Road (the Madison Hotel will be on your right, the Post Office on your left.) Make a left turn, proceed over RR tracks onto the Campus of the College of Saint Elizabeth. Follow signs to Xavier Center. Our Parking Lot is on your left beyond the Center.
Directions to Xavier Center by Public Transportation
By Train:
The New Jersey Transit Morristown Line from Hoboken and Midtown Direct from Manhattan (Penn Station) stop at Convent Station. This stop is next one after Madison (when coming from Hoboken/NY) and after Morristown (when coming from the West). Call 973-275-5555 for schedule and fare information. The walk from the train station to Xavier Center is about 2/3 mi.
By Bus:
Lakeland bus company has discontinued its service from the Port Authority terminal in New York. The only bus to this area now is a NJ Transit bus from the Livingston Mall.
By Air:
The Morristown area is served by Newark Liberty International Airport (30 minutes east of Xavier Center). Call major carriers for schedule and fare information.

People who come to Xavier Center for retreats, workshops, spiritual direction, conferences, and parish-related events, find themselves drawn in to the atmosphere of the Pelican Shop. Under the care of Jeannie Nicholls, the Shop caters to the specific, and individual needs of people of all different faiths and disciplines. Her customers are:
- principals of schools who purchase their gifts for their teachers, staff, and students;
- clergy and religious in parish and diocesan administration who buy items for their co-workers, volunteers, friends and family;
- students from around the area who come here for books they cannot find anywhere else;

What is the significance of the Pelican?
The Pelican standing over her young in their nest and nourishing them with her blood is a symbol of Christ on the Cross from whose wounded side blood and water flowed. It is also a symbol of Christ's feeding the faithful with His Body and blood in Holy Communion.
The Sisters of Charity use this symbol to express the truth that Jesus is the Source and Model of their personal call to love and serve God and God's people.
