Xavier Center's Retreat Programs consist of opportunities for single day Retreats, and for Guided Retreats.  Private times for retreat are available at any time -- please call (973) 290-5100 to make arrangements. 

We encourage you also to schedule retreat day experiences for your faculties and pastoral staffs and will help you find a suitable director for the day.

Labyrinth Presentation— Sacred Pattern, Sacred Path - Presenter: Sister Anita M. Constance, SC
Sr. Anita will introduce you to the ancient art of the Labyrinth. The labyrinth has been used for centuries as a “pilgrimage experience.” When Christian pilgrims could not get to Jerusalem, they walked the labyrinth. Undoubtedly, it was a way to ponder how they were walking in the footsteps of Jesus in their daily life.
Walking the labyrinth will be part of this workshop experience, so please either wear socks or bring your favorite pair to change into before walking the labyrinth.

Vows for the People of God - Presenter: Sister Simone Campbell, SSS
We in the vowed life often think of our vows in their personal or religious community dimensions. This workshop will explore how the vows, an extension of Baptism, have Catholic Social Teaching at their core. Through in-put, poetry, reflection and dialogue we will explore how the evangelical counsels are at the heart of our faith action in the world.

The human story is one filled with a series of transitions from birth to death. The usual cycle of life has the added challenge in the twenty-first century as the world, country, and Church navigate an almost unprecedented time of change and transition. This retreat will dig deep into our faith tradition and scriptures to discover the tools that will free us to embrace all transitions as an extraordinary opportunity for God’s grace to bring us to new and deeper places.

Quilting Retreat - Presenter: Sister Patricia Reynolds, SC
Time away to enjoy your creative gifts in the company of others who will do the same. An opportunity to learn how to quilt or to work on one of those unfinished quilts, scrap booking, painting, or other projects. There will be optional prayer services each morning and evening to celebrate our gifts of beauty and wonder and thanksgiving. And some time in the afternoon for rest, reflection, walks, visiting local sites or to quilt.
