GUEST INFORMATION

Xavier Center is a self-contained facility on the grounds of the
Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth and the College of Saint
Elizabeth - a beautiful 200 acre campus with plenty of grounds for
walking.
For overnight guests we provide linens, towels, etc. You may want to
bring an extra towel if you like more than one. Most of our rooms
are single rooms. Meals are served buffet style. Depending upon what
your retreat leaders have arranged, early morning coffee may be
available each day, and snacks may also be available during your
stay.
There are phone booths in the building, but no phones in rooms. We
will be glad to leave any messages for you in a central place,
though we ask you to tell friends and family to restrict
non-emergency calls from 9 A.M. to 9 P.M. Our phone number is 973
290-5100.
OFFICE HOURS are Monday to Thursday and Saturday 8:30 am -
4:30 pm; Friday 8:30 am - 8:30 pm; Sunday 8:30 am - Noon.
PARKING is below the house on the left for all guests. If you
park behind the house, we will need to ask you to move your car to the
parking lot.
Our CHAPEL is open at all times, and everyone is welcome in
this sacred space.
MEALS are at 8:00 A.M., 12:30 P.M. and 5:30 P.M. in the Dining
Room.
PHONE CALLS: Messages will be left for you on the first floor
bulletin board near the elevator. Please check it frequently. We
answer the phone 24 hours but we ask that you tell your family not
to call after 9PM unless it is an emergency. While we are, of
course, willing to be awakened for an emergency, we would ask that
all other calls be restricted to office hours. Phone booths are on
each floor (except 2nd) to the right as you exit the elevator.
In EMERGENCIES, the staff can be located on the 2nd floor in
the private convent wing.
FIRE ALARM: Our fire alarm is very sensitive and will go off
if you smoke or burn a candle or incense in your room -- this also
puts others in jeopardy. If the alarm sounds, you must
exit immediately. Please gather at the front door and report to your
group coordinator or a staff member, if you are not with a group, so we can check that all are out of the building.
